On December 6, 2023, Erbert was hospitalized after she became disoriented after a tour performance of Derek Hough: Symphony of Dance tour in Washington, D.C. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a ruptured blood vessel and thus needed an emergency craniectomy. After the craniectomy, she was in stable condition. Her husband, Derek, asked for positivity and prayers during the time.
On December 12, 2022, Erbert and Hough were involved in a car accident in the mountains. As a result of the accident, she had four stitches on her eyebrow. and a swollen face. She shared on her Instagram account that there were no other casualties aside from them and that they had a quick response from paramedics. On December 30, 2023, she shared a picture of herself where she showed her wounds from the accident on her Instagram account. Also, she said that she’s manifesting a year of health and strength in 2023.

On December 9, 2023, Derek posted on his Instagram account that Erbert was on the long road to recovery and that she was in a stable condition. Also, he thanked people for their support and well wishes. Due to Erbert suffering a cranial hematoma, Derek Hough: Symphony of Dance tour was postponed. However, they requested people to keep their tickets as they’ll be viable when a new date is scheduled.
