Hubert Brown is an American retired basketball player and coach working for ESPN News in Bristol, Connecticut as an active television analyst.

Brown enrolled at the St. Mary of the Assumption High School before developing his athletic skills. During his high school years, he played for the state championships in football, basketball, and baseball. He later joined Niagara University after elementary education and high school graduation in 1951. There, he played basketball as well as baseball again. In the following year 1955, Brown finished his studies at Niagara with a Bachelor of Education.

Brown works as a television analyst at ESPN News. The coaching career of Brown started in the fall of 1987 and continued for over three decades with great impacts in the basketball field. Brown arrived at St. Mary Academy in Little Falls, New York where his initial position was both an assistant basketball and baseball coach. Later, he joined Cranford High School opting for science and managing young talents and effecting discipline among them. His next promotion was the collegiate level having been an assistant coach at William & Mary as well as Duke University. In this role, his hard work, and impressive strategic prowess helped the Milwaukee Bucks to take note of him for employment as an assistant coach in their team.
In the 1970s, he developed into a decent head coach of the Kentucky Colonels in the American Basketball Association (ABA) where he led the team to a championship in 1975. He excelled in these areas: building strategies, both in techniques and the spirit of a player. When Brown moved on to the NBA, he coached the Atlanta Hawks from 1976 to 1981, with the team making the playoffs three seasons. His coaching abilities peaked while with the New York Knicks team. He registered two playoff seasons in his tenure with the team (1982-1987). His passion and ability to strategize were well received in the Big Apple and though the fans of Madison Square Garden have long memories, they have not forgotten him.
