Ian Cassette Biography

Ian Cassette is an American meteorologist working for FOX 35 serving as a weekend meteorologist. He joined the station in July 2022, after working as a weekend evening meteorologist at WDBJ7 in Roanoke, Virginia.

Ian Cassette Education

After graduating from high school, Ian attended Florida State University in 2011 where he attained a degree Bachelor of Science in meteorology and Atmospheric Science in 2015. While in college, he won the American Meteorological Society and received the National Championship.

Cassette works as a weekend meteorologist at FOX 35 in Orlando, Florida. He also creates daily packages, delivers weather graphics, and appears as weekend news at WSI News. Besides this, Ian has covered numerous hurricane events including the hurricanes Idalia, Nicole, Ian, and ice storms.

Prior to joining FOX 35 in July 2022, Ian worked at WDBJ7 as a weekend evening meteorologist from July 2017 to June 2022. During his time at WDBJ7, he was responsible for updating apps and websites as well as editing videos. He reported a wide range of news starting from several tornadoes, floods, and snowstorms. On top of this, Cassette also engaged viewers through social media and educated the public through organizations and community outreach at schools.

Before working at WDBJ7, he was a reporter and weekend meteorologist at WIBW TV from July 2015 to July 2017. He started his career at WFLA-TV as a meteorologist intern from June 2014 to August 2014. He also helped in news coverage and produced weather graphics using the WSI graphics system.
