Jacqueline Waters Biography

Jacqueline Waters is an American meteorologist working for WRIC as a meteorologist since joining the station in February 2023. Previously, she worked as a physical scientist at Axiom Consultant and INNOVIM.

Jacqueline Waters Education

Waters joined the University of Hawaii in 2015 when she finished her high school education. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science as well as a minor in Geology and Geophysics.

Waters works for WRIC as a meteorologist. She has always had a fascination for the weather, starting as a toddler watching the weather as a toddler, specifically Paul Kocin. She almost passed away in Kilauea Volcano on one of her volcanology trips.

Waters served the National Weather Center in Norman, Oklahoma, where she finished research that was published in the Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology. After graduating college, she gave weather forecasts to her bar guests while shaking their cocktails at DoG Street Pub in Williamsburg, Virginia. She also served Baron Weather as a meteorologist.

Waters’ interest in broadcast meteorology grew after she helped news stations nationwide. Before WRIC, she worked as a contractor for NOAA, where she operated the helpdesk for National Weather Service offices nationwide. Moreover, she troubleshot problems with their upper air flights and deployed to NWS offices to install new Upper Air equipment and trained meteorologists at the office on the new system.
