Jacqui Jeras Biography
Jacqui Jeras is an American award-winning meteorologist working for The Weather Channel serving as an On-Camera Meteorologist. She joined the station full-time in April 2019.

Jeras graduated from Iowa State University. In 2006, she was awarded “Outstanding Young Alumnus” from her Alma Mater. She also has a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Jacqui Jeras Career
Jeras is a meteorologist who has experience working at both the national and local levels. She prepares and forecasts weekday afternoons on Weather Center Live and also reports from the field. She is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, a distinction she attained through the American Meteorological Society. Additionally, she holds a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association where she has served as a Councilor and Recertification Chair.
Jeras had also worked for other stations prior to joining The Weather Channel. For instance, she previously worked for the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C. where she served as the morning meteorologist. Before ABC, she had spent more than ten years working for CNN enclosing every weather extreme including tornado outbreaks and hurricanes. She went to Joplin, Missouri following the EF5 tornado in 2011. She has also managed to win several awards including a Peabody Award along with her team for their coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Oil Spill. Additionally, she won the Mark Trail award for the promotion and safety of NOAA Weather Radio. Before moving to CNN, she had worked for WEHT-TV in Evansville, IN, KCAU-TV in Sioux City, IA, and WHO-TV in Des Moines.
Jeras started loving the weather ever since she was growing up in the Midwest with roots in Wisconsin and Minnesota. She was captivated by the snowstorm and all types of weather in general. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys biking, running, spending time with her family, as well as hiking.
