Jamal Goss is a well-reputed American award-winning Journalist working for WIS-TV, in Columbia, South Carolina as their morning news anchor. He joined the station in September 2021. He is an accomplished television journalist who is proud to be a news anchor on Sunrise.
Jamal is best known for his ability to break exclusive stories including his interviews with the family of Donovan Smalls, a Columbia college student who was killed at a house party. He discovered his passion for the field while serving as a civilian in Afghanistan. During his time there, he worked alongside the US military and was inspired by the broadcast networks including FOX News, MSNBC, and CNN where he interned with anchor Poppy Harlow in 2015.
His coverage of national stories such as the death of Samantha Josephson, a University of South Carolina student who was kidnapped, killed, and left in a rural area after mistakenly getting into the wrong car resulted in changes to the law and within the rideshare service industry.
