James Stratton Biography
James Stratton is an American reporter working for WISN-TV as an investigative anchor and reporter. Earlier, he served as a fill-in anchor and chief investigative reporter at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa.

Stratton attended and graduated from Sherrard High School and then enrolled at Augustana College where he attained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Mass Communication. While in college, he served as a sports reporter and columnist at Augustana Observer from August 2011 to May 2014.

Stratton serves as an investigative anchor and reporter at WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He joined WISN-TV in July 2023, after working in Des Moines, Iowa as a fill-in anchor and chief investigative reporter at KCCI-TV. James also uncovered a national crisis like the largest puppy mill bust in state history and the Iowa EMS system which caused people to die due to the lack of enough ambulances. He was honored with Emmy awards and the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for his excellent work.
Prior to working at KCCI-TV, Stratton worked for WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois as an evening anchor. In his role, he was in charge of writing nightly newscasts, editing, and shooting stories. He served the station for three years and three months from August 2018 to October 2021. James began his career at KWQC-TV in Davenport, Iowa where he started as an intern before later serving as a reporter and photographer. Later, he served as an editor and multimedia journalist before being promoted to weekend anchor in July 2016.
Stratton previously spent three months working as a videographer at Augustana Video Bureau from March 2012 to May 2012. His remarkable story which led to the change of law is about driver’s license photos where previously drivers did not put photos on their driving licenses which changed after she aired the story.
