James Taiclet is the new CEO of Lockheed Martin. He was named the new CEO on March 16, 2020, to replace Marilyn Hewson, who has been in the role since 2013.

He is Chairman, President, and CEO of American Tower Corporation, a leading global developer, owner, and operator of telecommunications real estate headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Before joining American Tower, he served as President of Honeywell Aerospace Services, a unit of Honeywell International, and before that, he served as Vice President, Engine Services at Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corporation.

Taiclet holds a Master’s in Public Affairs degree from Princeton University, where he was awarded a Fellowship at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He also graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with majors in Engineering and International Relations.

James started his career as a United States Air Force officer and pilot and served in the Gulf War. Taiclet was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company, specializing in telecommunications and aerospace strategy and operations. Taiclet is also a member of the Digital Communications Governors Community of the World Economic Forum (Davos).

Taiclet also worked as a member of the Executive Board of The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), Inc., the Advisory Council for the Princeton University Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, the Board of Trustees of Brigham and Women’s Health Care, Lockheed Martin’s Board of Directors, the US India Business Council Board and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum Board.

In June 2015, he was named as one of seven CEOs in Forbes Magazine’s “Global 2000 Hall of Fame.” He was included in the Harvard Business Review on its list of “The 100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World” for the seventh consecutive time in November 2018. In August 2015, Taiclet was appointed to the US-India CEO Forum, and, in October 2018, he was appointed Co-Chair of the US-India CEO Forum by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
