Jamie Council Biography

Jamie Council is an American Director/Anchor/Reporter who is best known for her time at KNDU-TV / SWX where she served as the sports director till March 25, 2022. She joined the KNDU/KNDO/SWX team as the Sports Director in May 2020, after previously working at The Howard Group, Inc where she served as a sales and marketing specialist.

In 2010, Council attended CSU San Bernardino where she studied General Studies. Later on, She joined Minot State University where she graduated in 2014, with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Production. Jamie enjoys the beach and sunshine, but in North Dakota, she discovered her passion for sports journalism. We’ll get to it later.

Since her parents signed her up for soccer in first grade, sports have been a big part of her life. She was a soccer player, volleyball player, softball player, track and field athlete, and football player (A kicker, duh). She went on to play soccer in college and compete in track and field for one year. Jamie used sports to connect with people, and she enjoys doing so, so it’s no surprise she ended up in sports journalism.

Jamie was fortunate enough to land an internship with the Beavers’ hockey team, where she transitioned to television journalism. Her hockey YouTube channel earned her an Eric Sevareid Award. She took a few years off to travel and experience a new city (Seattle) before returning to sports journalism. She went to a lot of Seahawks, Mariners, and Sounders games while in Seattle, and she even did some coverage for the XFL Dragons before they folded.
