Janel Knight is an American journalist recently served as a weekend news anchor, anchoring the evening newscasts at 6 and 11 p.m. She was also the morning reporter for abc27 News Daybreak during the week.
She joined the station back in July 2011 and had been part of the team for 11 years until her last day at the station on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

In 2008, she graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a double minor in multi-ethnic studies and justice.

She fell in love with broadcasting when she was just seven years old. On a family trip to Washington, D.C. she gave daily reports on her family’s home video camera.
Before joining the abc27 News team, Janel spent three years as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WJAC in Johnstown, Pa.

“after 11 years at abc27 News, this Saturday will be my last day.”
“I have had an amazing time reporting and anchoring in the Midstate,” the post read. “I have enjoyed covering everything from breaking news, politics, and even the Farm Show.”
“I will miss starting my morning with you all during the week and delivering the news on the weekends but I know it is time for something new,” she said in her post. “I am looking forward to getting more sleep and being able to spend more time with my family.”
