Roach attended the University of North Carolina after completing her high school education. When she finished her studies, she became a graduate and attained a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Public Policy Analysis with a focus in Communications.

Roach works for 13News Now as an anchor at 4, 5, and 6 p.m. The NFL drew her into a career in TV news. Writing and presenting speeches of her won topics for the National Forensic League while in high school cemented her TV career.
She has worked in Myrtle Beach, Norfolk, Milwaukee, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Norfolk where she did what she loved and told stories that positively impacted the public. She has been at the forefront of broadcasting national headlines throughout her television career. For example, she broadcasted the terror attacks on 9/11 at the Pentagon and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
A 12-time Emmy-awarded journalist, she has also received three Edward R. Murrow Awards and three national Telly Awards. Most recently, she received an Emmy in June 2023 for a documentary that explored the disaster of the developing fentanyl trial. She did a documentary dubbed Donovon which recorded the story of the dispute surrounding the police shooting demise of year-old Donovon Lynch in Virginia Beach.
20 and Odd: Africans’ Arrival in 1619, her documentary narrated the story of the initial enslaved Africans to came to English North America in 1619 to Hampton. For the documentary, she received an Emmy and two National Gold Telly Awards.
Roachy’s gripping story about a Norfolk mother fighting for ample care for her mentally ill and autistic son in the Emmy-awarded documentary, Looking For Happiness. Also, her story cautioned viewers about the crises of piloting a complicated mental health system.
In 2020, she served as an inductee of the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle. With a belief of looking out for the community, she talks to women’s and children’s groups.
The Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast chose her as the 2021 Famous Former. Roach served as a member of TEGNA, Inc.’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team, where she represented 64 local news stations countrywide
Before the Hampton roads, she worked in Baltimore at WMAR, in Milwaukee at WITI, and in Florence/Myrtle Beach at WPDE. Also, she served WTTG in Washington, DC. freelance as a reporter. Previously, she served Black Entertainment Television as a freelance reporter.
Roach serves the General Alumni Association on its Board of Directors. She was inducted into the “Order of the Golden Fleece.” Also, she won the yearly Martin Luther King Scholarship granted to students for their devotion to better the quality of life on campus.
Her children and being a mother are her proudest accomplishments. She serves as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and First Baptist Church Denbigh in Newport News.
