Before that role, she worked for the organization as an interim executive director. She joined the organization as a member of the board of directors in December 2019. Previously, she worked for Western Mass News(WSHM-TV) as a meteorologist for 8 years, from August 2016 to May 2025.

Just like other meteorologists, Brown was gripped by weather at a young age. While growing up in southern New Jersey, she witnessed a few big storms that scared her to death. Her father used to tell her that the sky in the Midwest would turn green before tornadoes developed. As a result, her curiosity for the weather was sparked, which later developed into a passion by the time she was a teen.
Brown’s passion for severe weather and storm chasing changed in college, and she gained an interest in TV and broadcasting weather to the public. Not long after graduating from college, she worked as a freelancer for News 12 Traffic and Weather in Woodbury, New York. She spent four years on the morning and evening weathercasts for five television stations across the New York City metro region.
In 2010, Brown secured her first full-time position as a morning meteorologist for WVVA in Bluefield, West Virginia. She worked there for six years, four of which were spent as the station’s chief meteorologist. So far, the craziest weather she has seen and forecasted includes a tornado in Brooklyn, the 2012 derecho, the 2016 flood that devastated parts of southern West Virginia, and Hurricane Sandy, which socked WV with heavy snow.
