Turner is working for NBC 12 News serving as an anchor and reporter. Having joined the network in 2016, she went to The Richmond Montessori School and The Collegiate School. She spent most of her college years at Elon University, where she later graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Prior to her relocating to Richmond, she served at WECT News in Wilmington, North Carolina both as a weekend anchor and a multimedia journalist.
She has featured several news headlines in Central Virginia, including the August 2017 Charlottesville chaos, and Hurricane Florence’s deadly tornadoes in September 2018. Later in 2021, she was tenured by the On Your Side Investigators team. There she helps solve issues in the community that they may be encountering, such as healthcare, housing, and consumer issues. During her free time, she loves spending time in the community, by hosting events, and speaking to school groups and students. She also loves to learn more about the people of Virginia who make the Commonwealth and making it a better place to live, work and thrive.
Turner enjoys being in her hometown, anchoring and reporting for the station she grew up watching. During her leisure time, she is a meditation, yoga, and indoor cycling teacher, who loves to travel, shop, sing, and spend time with loved ones, her husband Marcelus, her bonus daughter Aubrey, and their rescue dog Libbie. Turner’s passion is to help others live well, offering support all through.
