Chambers has worked in the yachting industry for more than 2 decades, including private expeditions and cruises all across the Asia Pacific. According to his LinkedIn, he has worked as the captain of Yacht Moatize, Yacht Pursuit, Yacht Ilona, and Yacht Ilonka. He obtained his captain’s license when he was 28 years old.
Before transitioning to the yachting industry, Chambers worked as a professional rugby player for Australia’s Newcastle Knights. He then became a PADI Rescue Diver before receiving his license. During his free time, he works as an ambassador for Classroom of Hope, a nonprofit rebuilding Indonesian schools using recycled plastic blocks.

Jason Chambers Accident
In 2019, Chambers caught national attention in Australia when he crashed a superyacht(Moatize) into a wharf in Queensland. At the time, he was captaining Moatize when it crashed into the Marlin Marina in Cairns, barely missing a popular waterfront restaurant and a smaller boat. The accident was attributed to a mechanical failure due to a jammed gear, causing the ship to remain in gear while docking. He used the anchor to slow the vessel and reduce damage to the marina, and there were no injuries reported.

Chambers was diagnosed with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, in December 2024 after undergoing a biopsy in Bali. As a result, he underwent surgery in Australia to remove the cancer.
