Previously, he worked as an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst College for over 5 years(January 2018 to May 2023) and as a sports director and anchor for WJET/WFXP for 4 years(February 2019 to April 2023)

Puskar joined Mercyhurst College in 1998 after finishing his education at Saint Boniface School (’94) andSeneca High School (’98). In 2002, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications.
While in high school, he was active in basketball, track, and field teams. He also wrote for the school paper and was nominated to the National Honor Society. His peers chose him as the Class Speaker at the graduation commencement.
During his sophomore year, Puskar worked as a radio color analyst for the school’s radio station, calling football and basketball games. Puskar began his career as a part-time news photographer and later climbed the ranks to weekend sports reporter and anchor in 2003. He was later named to the weeknight sports desks, holding that role for two years. During his 13 years in local sports coverage, he covered everything, including local sports, high school events, and Erie’s minor league franchises.
Though he enjoyed showcasing the local athletes and programs, Puskar also had unforgettable assignments at the national level. He also had his share of regular-season games in the NFL, NHL, and MLB. Moreover, he covered the 2007 U.S. Open, four Super Bowls, the 2012 Kentucky Derby, and the 2012 Belmont Stakes.
Puskar joined WMCE as a radio play-by-play caller for the Lakers football in the fall of 2016 and 2017. By the fall, he joined WPSE 1450 AM as a radio broadcaster for high school football and basketball games. Also, he covered the 2018 PIAA State Football Championship game between Cathedral Prep and Imhotep Charter.
