Jeané Coakley is an American sports reporter and anchor at SNY since joining the team in 2010. Coakley graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Ct. where she majored in communications and minored in history. 

While in high school, Coakley played soccer, softball, and volleyball, and was even a gymnast. She won several awards on the sports field including being named to the All-State volleyball and softball teams in her senior year. Coakley figured since she wasn’t going to be a professional athlete she might as well do the next best thing; get paid to watch and talk sports!

After graduation, Coakley moved to Billings, Montana where she was a news producer. Coakley got her first on-air sports job at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona. After 2 years out west, Coakley headed to the midwest where she accepted a job as a sports reporter at WISH-TV in Indianapolis. In March 2009, she came to the Big Apple to work at SportsNet New York where she is the beat reporter for the New York Jets.

She has traveled the country covering sports which include the Super Bowl, Indy 500, March Madness, Brickyard 400, the rodeo, and of course high school football, baseball, and basketball. Coakley has won several AP awards for her reporting and a regional Emmy.

When she is not covering a sporting event, Coakley is probably running or trying something new. Coakley will try anything once – she went skydiving with the Army’s Golden Knights, driven a NASCAR, flew with the Navy’s Blue Angels, and rode around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a 2-seater IndyCar, and NASCAR is driven by Sam Hornish, Jr.
