She returned to Michigan in 2017 and worked for the NBC and FOX affiliate in Flint, WEYI/WSMH, as a sports director. She rejoined WXYZ after interning at the station while she was in college.

During her career, Trotman has broadcasted everything including the NHL playoffs, high school state championships, the Ryder Cup, the NCAA Basketball National Championship, and professional and collegiate sports. Despite this, she enjoys broadcasting stories that specialize in local sports. She loves to be active in the community and connect with her audience.
