Jeff Berardelli is an American Meteorologist working for WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida as the Chief Meteorologist and Climate Specialist. He joined the station in 2022 while working with CBS News.

Berardelli graduated in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences from Cornell University. He continued his education at Columbia University where he did a master of Climate and Society. The acquisition of this knowledge enabled him to expand his knowledge of climate and its relation to society. However, while a student at Cornell University, Berardelli took several meteorological courses such as; atmospheric physics, forecasting, and climate modeling.

In his reports, Berardelli used a special widget called “wobble tracker” which enabled him to deliver real-time forecast updates to the Gulf Coast populations.
Berardelli started his meteorological adventure over 25 years ago. He previously worked at WPEC-TV in Miami, West Palm Beach, and in Buffalo, New York. His second stopover to the Tampa Bay area started after he served with CBS News in New York City as a weather forecaster and a climatologist. In this role, he delivered weather for the network’s CBS Mornings show, worked as a climate correspondent traveling the country reporting on environmental stories, and provided scientific analysis for various platforms. Also, he had a meteorologist professional experience with Bay News 9, WTSP-TV, WCBS-TV, and WFOR-TV.
Berardelli also reported on events such as Hurricane Michael in October 2018, Hurricane Dorian in September 2019, and Hurricane season of the year 2020 which was the record-breaking one.
