Jeff Roper Biography
Jeff Roper is an American journalist working for KIFI Local News 8 as a reporter at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. on weekdays. He joined the station in September 2018 after working at KFXE in Kerrville & Boerne as a program director and morning personality. Since July 2018, he has served 99 KUPI as a program director and morning personality.

Roper joined WMYI/WSSL/WESC as an air talent from 1991 to 1993. He then joined WAEV/WLVH from 1993 to 1994 as an operations manager and morning host. There he was the mornings and program director for WAEV-FM and oversaw the No. 1 Urban A/C in America, LOVE 101.1. Roper also launched Tom Joyner in the South on WLVH.
Clear Channel, WIS-TV, and CBS Radio
Roper joined Clear Channel, in Columbia, SC from 1994 to 2000 as an OM/PD/Morning Host WCOS-FM at WCOS-FM, WHKZ-FM, and WLTY-FM OM/PD. He then worked as a WIS-TV Weather and News anchor at WIS-TV from January 1994 to November 2000. From 2000 to 2004, he served as an OM/PD/Mornings WSOC-FM at CBS Radio. There, he was the operations manager/program director and #1 Morning Show in Charlotte on CBS Radio’s Country giant. He was also the Country Music Association Broadcast Personality of the Year winner.
FOX CHARLOTTE WCCB-TV & WOLO-TV, Double O Radio, Clear Channel Radio
He joined FOX CHARLOTTE WCCB-TV & WOLO-TV as an anchor, host, and weather reporter from 2001 to 2004. There he produced and hosted Fox News EDGE and weather anchor both WCCB-TV’s 10 pm newscast and WOLO-TV’s 6 & 11 pm News. Roper joined Double O Radio in Columbia, SC as a WWNU Morning Host from 2005 to 2008. There he hosted and produced mornings on flagship country FM for Double O Radio, headed by Bob Pittman/Bob Sherman. He then worked from October 2008 to February 2012 as WTQR-FM Morning Host and Premium Choice Air Talent for Clear Channel Radio. He was the No. 1 ranked morning host and national air talent on 60+ Clear Channel stations on numerous syndicated formats across the US.
WCWG-TV, K-LOVE/EMF Country network, Cox Communications
From July 2009 to February 2012, he worked as WCWG-TV News Director/Anchor and Host for WCWG-TV in Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There he launched daily news/weather updates for a new CW station under Dan Sullivan and John Bailie. He also simulcast local radio shows for early morning local programming and hosted/produced weekly variety/music shows on Saturday nights. From March 2008 to March 2012, he served as the National Afternoons K-Love at K-LOVE/EMF Country network. He then joined Cox Communications in San Antonio, Texas as the morning host, assistant program director, and music director from February 2012 to May 2013.
Quantum Communications, KSAT, KFXE-FM/Ranch Radio Group
Roper worked as the operations manager/program director/morning host at Qantum Communications in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Area from September 2013 to August 2014. There he was the operations manager for 5 station cluster in Myrtle Beach, SC including Country, Gator 107.9. He hosted mornings that were also simulcast on sister WYNA-FM, Brunswick, GA/Jacksonville, FL. Roper then joined KSAT in San Antonio, Texas, as KSAT-TV Anchor/Host and SA Live/show producer from September 2012 to November 2016. There he hosted KSAT community/sales specials and wrote/produced/hosted a weekly magazine show.
