She even won Best TV Hair! The Augusta West Rotary Club gave her its Louis Harris Media Award in 2006 for her professional and civic involvement in the community of Augusta.
Montgomery received an Alumni Excellence Award from Guilford College, her alma mater. She also attained the Doing The Most Good Award from the Augusta Salvation Army. For 8 years, she worked as an advisor to the Board of Directors for the Augusta Area Salvation Army. From 2014 to 2015, she served as a board chair. Montgomery has also received honors from civic groups and organizations, honorary keys to a couple of cities in the CSRA, Augusta Mini Theatre’s Sunshine Award, and the Greater Augusta Arts Council’s 2023 Media Award.

Montgomery served Augusta Family Magazine as a column writer where she wrote the parenting column, “Mom2Mom“ for 15 years. She won Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards for Best Humor Columnist from Parenting Publications of America.
Volunteering and Organizations
Montgomery works as a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Augusta. Active in the Augusta community, she serves as a volunteer with non-profits and foundations. Aside from the Salvation Army, she has also served on the boards of the March of Dimes of East Central Georgia, the University Healthcare Foundation, and the American Cancer Society’s Trees for Life committee. Moreover, she has supported Women in Philanthropy for the CSRA and the Augusta Symphony Orchestra.
