Jennie Ruby Jane mononymously known as Jennie is a famous South Korean rapper and singer. Being born in South Korea, for five years she studied in New Zealand before returning to South Korea in 2010. In August 2016, she debuted as a member of the girl group, Blackpink, formed by YG Entertainment. In November 2018, she made her debut as a solo artist with the single “Solo”. The song was commercially successful as it topped both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. She then made her acting debut in 2023, under the stage name Jennie Ruby Jane in the HBO series The Idol.
