Jennifer Copeland Biography

Jennifer Copeland is an American Anchor/Reporter working for WSBT 22 News in South Bend, Indiana Area where she serves the station as a News Anchor. She has been working with the station since September 2012.  

Jennifer Copeland Career

Copeland works with WSBT 22 News where she anchors the First News at 4, 5, and 6. She joined the WSBT 22 News team working as a reporter for First In The Morning. She quickly rose through the ranks and became a top reporter and anchor. Copeland left the station for a few years to work in some major markets and is proud to be back at WSBT 22 News.

She kick-started her journalism career working for WJW-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. There, she was serving the station as an Associate Producer between December 1999 and May 2002. She then went on to join WICD-TV in Champaign, Illinois. There, she served the station as an Evening News Anchor between January 2006 and August 2008. 

She has also worked with WCNC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina where she was serving the station as a Reporter between August 2008 and January 2010.  Asides from this, she has worked with KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota as an Evening News Anchor. There, she served the station between May 2010 and June 2012. Copeland is a proud graduate of Kent State University where was studying broadcast journalism.

In the course of her career as a journalist, she has won many awards for her reporting and storytelling over the years. Asides from this, she is passionate about using her role to tell positive stories. She stated that life is full of negativity. Copeland further stated that her job is to show what is happening in the world around her viewers, whether bad or good. She feels sad that the bad news is always more.

Jennifer works hard to find stories that lift one up and focuses on the good stories. She does this in her weekly “Coaching with Kerry” segment on WSBT 22 News First at 4. Her big loves are those closest to her: her children, pets, family, and yoga. Copeland’s favorite quote is that Life doesn’t happen to you but it happens for you. This quote was said by Jim Carrey.
