It revealed that the teen had passed away due to a hereditary illness not “undetermined” reasons. She received a nomination for a Lower Great Lakes Emmy award for her chain of reports.

Before arriving in the Circle City, Dreasler worked in Quincy, Illinois at KHQA as a morning anchor for two years. There, she received national attention for broadcasting the Curtis Lovelace murder case. She worked with CBS Network producers and reporter Maureen Maher on the case. Further, she appeared in several episodes of CBS’ 48 Hours where she received reporting/editing credits for her work there.

In 2016, she provided live broadcasts of the aftereffects of a tornado that hit Emden, Missouri. For her broadcast, the Sinclair Broadcast Group named it the “2016 Model Live Shot.” In June 2017, the Illinois Broadcast Association named it “Best Spot News.” That same year, she earned a nomination for the Illinois Broadcast Association “Best TV Reporter” Award.

Dreasler has won several awards for her journalism work including a Mid-America Emmy, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, and several other Illinois/Missouri awards. She started her journalism career in 2011 when she served WGEM as an intern reporter. The following year, she was promoted to serve the station full-time.
