Jerry Howell is an American traffic reporter who is working at Alabama News  Network. He joined Alabama News Network in July 1999, bringing weekday morning and afternoons reports on CBS and ABC32. Previously, he worked at WNOX as Program Director and at WOKI as News/ Production Director and morning show host.

Howell works at Alabama News where he has been serving as a traffic reporter since July 1999. He has nearly 50 years of experience, having worked in Knoxville, Tennessee, at WIVK and WIMZ. While at WNOX worked as a Program Director a News and Production Director and as a morning show host at WOKI for 12 good years.

He was the afternoon drive announcer and production director in Wheeling West Virginia, at WWVA, home of Jamboree USA. During his time there, he was a finalist in the worldwide CLIO Awards for a series of commercials he put down, voiced, and, produced. His commercials have won some Gold, Silver, and Bronze ADDY Awards and have been featured in the Radio Advertising Bureau.

Howell later edited documentaries that won Robert F. Kennedy Awards twice and took first place in the Sigma Delta Chi awards for a documentary series he wrote and produced on drug abuse. He loves spending his free time doing music and video, flying, traveling everywhere that needs a passport, and photography.
