Jessica Schambach Biography

Jessica Schambach is an American Emmy Award-Winning anchor working at KOCO5 News. She anchors at 5, and 9 p.m. on KOCO 5, and 10 p.m. alongside co-anchor Evan Onstot, and at 6 p.m. with co-anchor Abigail Ogle. She joined the KOCO 5 News team in 2002 as a young reporter.

Jessica Schambach Education

Schambach graduated from the University of Texas Christian University with a degree in broadcast journalism. She began her job at Fort Worth Community Cable Television Station. Schambach spent more than two years in Southern Oregon reporting news as a weekend co-anchor while attending college.

She has reported flooding as well as wildfires and devastating tornadoes. She believes delivering life-saving information is the most important job for everyone at KOCO5 News when severe weather endangers Oklahoma. Schambach says that making a difference in viewers’ lives or helping their families is the most rewarding thing.

She does not stay behind the anchor desk in fact thrives on reporting from the scene. In addition, Schambach reported Presidential visits, Thunder playoff games as well as tornado destruction- you name it, she has covered it. Over the course of the years, she has liked interviewing celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Carrie Underwood, and World News anchor Charles Gibson. However, she says some of her most memorable interviews have been in Oklahoma. Her work has earned her countless awards as well as Emmys.

Schambach started her job at KOCO 5 News in 2002 as a young reporter and fast moved up the ranks to morning co-anchor and later on evening co-anchor. She feels as if she has grown up at KOCO 5 News! During her free time, she enjoys, working out at the YMCA, enjoying mother nature, and traveling. But most of all is spending time with her husband, daughter, and step-sons. She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
