Altman’s career started when he worked at NBC as a page. Next, he joined ABC Newsmagazine 20/20 as an associate producer. While at ABC Newsmagazine 20/20, he traveled countrywide broadcasting some of the network’s most eminent stories. Moreover, he has worked in several national productions. After ABC Newsmagazine 20/20, he secured his first full-time on-air job in Miami at WAMI where he worked as a reporter for The Times Magazine. Also, he served the Mervyn’s Beach Bash as a host.
Altman then worked in Columbus, Ohio at WSYX(ABC/FOX). While in Columbus, he broadcasted the Ohio State Buckeyes championship season. Also, he attained Emmy Awards including the Midwest Emmy Award for Best Feature Reporter.
Volunteering and Charity
Altman spends his free time supporting charitable causes. For 7 years, he hosted the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Labor Day Telethon. Additionally, he works as an emcee for fundraisers around the nation and donates his time to charities like the Parkinson’s Foundation, and the Hometown Foundation, and represents Hartford-based Camp Courant. In 2015, Camp Courant named him “Hero of the Year” and was MDA’s Man of the Year in 2016.
