Jim Rosenfield is an American journalist who previously worked for WCAU as a news anchor at 4, 6, and 11 p.m. from September 2013 to December 2022. Previously, he served NBC4 Washington as an anchor and reporter.

Jim Rosenfield Education

Rosenfield attended Duke University in 1979 after completing his high school education. He graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in English. He attended Hamilton College from 1977 to 1979.

Rosenfield worked for WCAU as a news anchor at 4, 6, and 11 p.m. from September 2013 to December 2022. Previously, he served NBC4 Washington as an anchor and reporter. His journalism career started in 1981 when he served WTVD in Durham as a general assignment reporter. Next, he moved to Houston where he served KTRK as a reporter and anchor.

Rosenfield then relocated to Chicago where he served WLS as a reporter and weekend anchor. In 1998, he moved to New York where he served WCBS as a co-anchor of the noon newscast with Cindy Hsu, and the 5 p.m. newscast with Lisa Cooley Hill. In April 2000, he left the station and joined WNBC where he anchored “Live at Five” with Sue Simmons. He later left the station in 2005 and rejoined WCBS in June of that year as the lead male anchor to replace Ernie Anastos who had left the station for a 5-year $10 million contract at WNYW.

From June 2005 to April 2006, Rosenfield anchored CBS 2 News at 5 and CBS 2 News at 11 alongside Roz Abrams. In April 2006, he stopped anchoring the 5 p.m. newscast and started anchoring at 6 p.m. with Dana Tyler and at 11 p.m. with Tyler. In June 2007, he and Dana started anchoring at noon and 6 p.m. after reassignments from new WCBS managers.

WCBS’s management let Rosenfield as the noon and 6 p.m. newscaster go in an effort to cut budgets at CBS. He later left the station as they had breached his contract. He then joined WRC in Washington, D.C. as a weekend news anchor. Rosenfield worked there till September 2013 when he joined WCAU in Philadelphia as a weeknight anchor at 4, 6, and 11 p.m.
