Joe Bird Biography
Joe Bird is an American meteorologist working for WEHT/WTVW as a meteorologist and reporter. He joined the station in November 2013 and has served the station for more than a decade. Previously, he worked for Rite Aid Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician for more than a decade.

Bird joined Motlow State Community College in 2003 when he finished his high school education. In 2005, he transferred to Middle Tennessee State University where he studied Journalism. In 2007, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.
Bird then furthered his studies at Mississippi State University where he received a Broadcast Meteorology Certificate. During college, he worked FOX 17 News as a weather anchor. There, he gathered data and created graphics for nightly newscasts. Moreover, he shadowed reporters. He also served MTTV Channel as a weather anchor. He was an associate producer for Motlow Monitor Newspaper. In this role, he wrote weekly articles and feature stories.

Bird works for WEHT/WTVW as a meteorologist and reporter. On Tuesday mornings, he features a local restaurant in the “Tasty Tuesday” segment. His colleagues dubbed him “Mister Tasty Tuesday.” Hailing from the south, he is familiar with how the weather quickly changes and how much it affects our lives.
Before relocating to the Tri-state, he worked as a nationally certified pharmacy technician and taught math and pharmacy classes all over Middle Tennessee. He also traveled to pharmacies to help them in any way he could.
He thought of sticking to pharmacy but his passion for weather was strong. He wants to make sure people and animals are safe during weather occasions. He often posts pictures of animals in his forecasts and his dog.
