Joe Trahan is an American Emmy and Murrow award-winning sports anchor and reporter who is working at WFAA. He joined Channel 8 in June 2003.
Joe Trahan Career
Houston is his native home and he started his career in 1989, while still in college. During his senior year at Loyola University, he worked at WWL-TV on the overnight shift as a news writer. In addition, he started his on-air sports career at WCBD-TV in Charleston, South Carolina.
He has also worked at WVUE-TV for nine years and while he was at the station, he was named as a sports director. In addition, since he joined WFAA, he coveted title runs from the Rangers and Maverick including the Mavs’ magical run that ended with a championship in 2011.
Furthermore, he joined WCBD in June 1991 and served as a sports anchor and reporter at the station till June 1994. Later on, in 1994, he joined the Fox 8 News team where he served as a sports director, sports anchor, and sports reporter. Trahan joined Loyola University New Orleans in 1986 and graduated with a bachelor’s in Communications in 1990.
