Joel Sherman is an American sportswriter for the New York Post. Sherman is also a baseball insider with MLB Network and co-hosts alongside Jon Heyman the baseball podcast The Show.

Sherman attended New York University, where he graduated with a degree in 1985. He previously attended high school in his hometown graduating with a diploma.

While at NYU, Sherman worked for both the in-house Washington Square News and the UPI. In 1989, he joined the New York Post and worked as a beat writer writing about the New York Yankees from 1989 to 1995. Sherman also worked at MSG Network’s SportsDesk, MSNBC’s The Last Word, SI.com, the YES Network, MSG Network’s SportsDesk, and New York 1’s Sports on One. He later served at ESPN The Magazine, New York Magazine, and Sports Illustrated for Kids where he wrote freelance articles.

Sherman worked at the Baseball Writers’ Association of America as a chairman of the New York chapter. Before working as chairman of the New York chapter, Sherman had previously spent 2 years working as a vice chairman. He then joined MLB Network as an insider in 2013. Joel has been a voter for the National Baseball Hall of Fame since 1998.
