John Atwater is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Reporter working with WCVB News where she serves the station as a General Assignment Reporter. She joined the WCVB News team working as a part-time freelance reporter in the month of November 2009.

Atwater works with WCVB-TV Channel 5 News where she serves the station as a General Assignment Reporter. She also previously worked with “NewsCenter 5” full-time in the month of September 2010. Atwater has also previously worked with WTXF-TV in Philadelphia, Pa.

While working at WTXF, she served as a general assignment reporter and anchor for the weekend newscasts. When she was in Philadelphia, she reported from the scene of many stories which generated intense national attention. This includes the Amish school shooting in Lancaster County and the US Airways flight that landed in the Hudson River. After his arrival in Boston, she has been able to cover major events such as the spring 2010 major water main break in Weston and the MBTA fire at Downtown Crossing. Asides from this, he has covered the race to fill Ted Kennedy’s senate seat.

She is a proud recipient of a five-time regional Emmy Award winner and has also been recognized by both the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press. Previously, she also worked at WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, another Hearst Television station, as an anchor and reporter.

He has also begun his broadcast career at WKYT-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky. The Milwaukee native is a proud graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism with a dual degree in journalism and economics.
