John Elliott Biography

John Elliott is an American Host/Anchor/Meteorologist working with WCBS/CBS New York working where he serves the station as a Television Host. He has been working with the station in the Greater New York City Area since January 2007.

He is a proud graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in radio, film, and television. Elliott is also a proud graduate of Mississippi State University where he was studying meteorology. Asides from this, he was taught media courses at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, and Central Missouri State.

John Elliott Career

Elliott works with CBS New York serving the station as a Television Host. He joined the station working as a meteorologist for CBS2 News This Morning and CBS2 News At Noon. Prior to joining WCBS News, he was working with KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. Previously, he also spent two years with NBC News and MSNBC while appearing on weekday mornings on NBC as a weathercaster on “Early Today.”

Asides from this, he has also handled a wide variety of assignments working as an anchor and correspondent on MSNBC. He also served as a 2004 MSNBC presidential campaign correspondent in the battleground state of Iowa. Elliott also reported from numerous bases and p[posts throughout the nation as troops were deployed for the war in Iraq. He also spent time onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

Previously, he was also working with XETV-TV in San Diego where he was serving as an anchor on the FOX station’s morning newscasts. Asides from this, he has also worked with KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California where he was serving the station as a morning news anchor. He kick-started his career working with WRBL-TV, the CBS affiliate station in Columbus, Georgia. There, he was serving the station as a weathercaster. From there, he went on to join KGET News before making the transition to his role working as a news anchor in Bakersfield.

He is a proud recipient of the California Associated Press award for Best Weathercaster. Elliott has also received numerous honors for his news features and general assignment reporting. Prior to embarking on his career in broadcasting, he was an advertising copywriter and producer.
