John Longshore is an American sports analyst working at Alabama News Network. He has worked for Alabama News Network for more than 10 years. Previously, he worked at WACV-AM since August 1992 in Montgomery. In addition, he also worked at Sports Radio 740 WMSp-AM where he serves as the co-host of Budweiser Sportsline.

He has been a devoted participant and critic of sports since he was an athlete at Jeff Davis High School in Montgomery in the early 1980s. Longshore spent four years pursuing Mass Communication at the University of Alabama. After presenting himself at Crimson Tide Football games as a student for some years, taking only adequate lessons to qualify for a student pass, Longshore went back to a business job before getting into radio.

He started his job in radio in August 1992 at WACV-AM in Montgomery. In March 1994, he went along town to Sports Radio 740 WMSP-AM. He can be heard every weekday morning from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on “Sportsline” with co-host Barry McKnight.

Longshore’s 15 years of experience in radio and television and his acknowledgment by the Alabama Associated Press for broadcast excellence have added him a reputation as a tough but fair host who is not shy about testing his listeners. Longshore also likes coaching sports when he is not reporting them. During his free time, he enjoys coaching youth basketball for the YMCA. He is also a member of the Ascension church.
