Before joining Gray Tv in 2021, Decker worked for Fox News as the White House Correspondent between December 2014 and January 2021.
While working for Fox, he was involved in a controversy after he confronted Lucian Wintrich, a reporter from The Gateway pundit according to a Buzzfeed reporter. Prior, Jon served as White House Correspondent for Reuters Television and SiriusXM Radio. Before, Decker served as a Washington correspondent for PBS Television’s “Nightly Bussines Report.” Moreover, he worked as the host of PBS Television’s “This Week in Bussiness.”
He also served as a business reporter for the NBC affiliate in Washington (WRC) and as a field producer for NBC in Miami. Jon has reported on the Clinton, Obama, and Trump administrations and Bush, 23 State of the Union Addresses six presidential elections, and President Clinton’s impeachment. While working for PBS, Jon provided coverage for the US presidential election in 1996 and the government shutdown. Previously, he served as the Miami correspondent at NBC Radio.
While at the station he provided coverage for the Major League Baseball strike, Hurricane Andrew, and also reported from Cuba and Haiti. Furthermore, he secured his first job as a journalist while working for Pennsylvania public radio as a radio host and the anchor of CNN Headline News. Before, he worked as a media fellow at Standford University’s Hoover Institution and aide to the late U.S. Senator John Heinz.
