Jonah Gilmore is an American Anchor and Reporter working for KETV as a reporter and anchor. Before joining KETV, he worked for WVLA-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana serving as a reporter.

Jonah Gilmore Education

Gilmore attended Dillard University in 2009 where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communication in 2013. In college, he worked for WDUT News as a Multi-Media One Man Band Journalist. Later on, he went on to join Texas Southern University in 2015 where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Digital Media and Communication in 2017.

Prior to joining KETV in January 2022, Jonah worked as a reporter at WVLA-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He served the station for two years and nine months from April 2019 to Dec ember 2021. Earlier, he worked for WPMI-TV where he served as a producer from February 2018 to March 2019.

Before working for WPMI-TV, Gilmore worked as a producer and reporter at KWES-TV in Odessa, Texas. While there, he was in charge of updating social media platforms and writing and editing stories. He also served as a general assignment from May 2016 to July 2017. Jonah began his professional career at WWL-TV in New Orleans working as a production assistant from December 2013 to August 2015. He also wrote articles, conducted interviews, and executed the technical director’s vision.

During his career journey, Jonah has covered multiple news including Louisiana’s catastrophic hurricanes, the District Attorney injuring kids with his boat, and the controversial death of Ronald Greene. He also worked as a professor at Southern University and A&M College from August 2020 to December 2021.

Apart from working as a journalist, he a support for the Children’s Defense Fund Beat the Odds Scholar. Gilmore has also taken part in different fundraiser organizations such as YWCA and NAACP. The organizations assisted mothers who were in prison to meet with their loved ones during holidays. Additionally, Jonah is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
