K. Michelle (Kimberly Michelle Pate) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and television personality. She is best known for her songs “Fakin’ It”, “I Just Can’t Do This”, and “How Many Times.”
As a child, Michelle learned to play piano and guitar, and took voice lessons from Bob Westbrook, who also trained pop singers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

She attended Overton High School in Memphis where she graduated in 2000. Michelle earned a music scholarship to Florida A&M University (FAMU) by yodeling at her audition.
In the late 2000 at the age of 18, Michelle was crowned the Freshman Attendant of the Homecoming Court. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority having pledged FAMU’s Beta Alpha chapter in the Fall of 2001.
In September 2004, she reports that she stopped attending classes for a short time to have a baby boy, then returned to finish college. The father of her son ended up marrying her sorority sister.
Michelle graduated from FAMU with honors and was accepted into several law schools but decided to forgo law school to pursue music full-time.

Michelle began her music career in 2009 when she signed a contract deal with Jive Records and released her first R&B-charting single called “Fakin’ It” featuring Missy Elliott.
She then released three other R&B songs – “Fallin'”, “I Just Can’t Do This”, and “How Many Times” – all three songs attained spots on the charts before Michelle left the label.
In 2012, she was added to the cast of VH1’s reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Michelle’s appearance on the show led her to signing with Atlantic Records and releasing her long-awaited debut album Rebellious Soul on August 13, 2013.
The album was a commercial success, debuting at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
Her The Rebellious Soul Musical that was directed by a Golden Globe winner Idris Elba, and debuted on VH1 on August 19, 2014.
In December 2014, she released her second album Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart?, which debuted at number 6 on the US Billboard 200, and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
Michelle became the first ever African American to have an endorsement deal with Jack Daniels to begin developing her own cocktail.

In 2014, she received her own reality TV show K. Michelle: My Life. The show follows the daily life of the Michelle. Through her busy schedule, heartbreaks, and friend drama, Michelle always finds a way to come out on top by turning her pain into music.

On March 25, 2016, she released her third album More Issues Than Vogue, which debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. The album was preceded by the release of the singles “Not a Little Bit”and “Ain’t You”.

To celebrate New Years, the R&B singer flashed her boobs to fans at a popular Cleveland nightclub on New Year’s Eve where she was performing. Just as the ball dropped, she also dropped her top and the fans started screaming and laughing. Some of the women in the crowd followed suit and flashed their boobs too back at her.
K Michelle Plastic Surgery
Michelle revealed that she did have plastic surgery done, she got silicone-filled injections into her buttocks. In 2022, K announced that she had undergone reconstructive surgery to remove the black market hydrogel injections from her body.
