Kaley O’Kelley Biography

Kaley O’Kelley is an American six-time Emmy Award-Winning journalist working at ABC15 News. She rejoined the station in August 2018 as a co-anchor on the morning news. She previously worked at KEYT (ABC)  Santa Barbara and XETV (FOX) San Diego.

Kaley O’Kelley Career

O’Kelley at 17 years old, was recorded to host a Los Angeles-based television talk show. The experience finally led her to KYMA in Yuma to co-anchor the morning news and forecast the weather. While there she won an Associated Press award for investigative journalism. She worked at KEYT (ABC) Santa Barbara, as well as XETV (FOX) San Diego, and Phoenix to co-host Sonoran Living Live and forecast the weather for ABC15 Arizona. Later joined 3TV in Phoenix and was voted Best News Personality in 2013 and 2014 while there.

Kaley co-hosted “The Emmitt Zone” with Dallas Cowboys’ great Emmitt Smith. O’Kelley worked often on The Weather Channel and Good Morning America Weekend. She also filled in forecasting weather for almost five years. O’Kelley was given an opportunity in 2015 to anchor the evening news at CBS in Dallas/Fort Worth. and During her time in Texas, she was called to Los Angeles to guest co-host The Talk on CBS.

Following three and a half busy years, a few health scares, and setting up a business in emerging web-streaming technologies, she decided to go back to Arizona. O’Kelley is very proud to be a member of The American Meteorological Society, The National Weather Association, and The Native American Journalists Association. When coming to her education, she attended Mississippi State University where she studied broadcast meteorology. Later in 1995, she attended Pepperdine University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.

During weekends, O’Kelley loves exploring places with her family and riding bikes. She as well likes, going to concerts,  and in the fall, rooting for the Arizona Cardinals (hopefully all the way through the postseason!), and cooking with her mom on Sundays.
