KaMaria Braye is an American reporter working for WAVY as a weekday reporter from 4:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. She joined the station in September 2022. Previously, she served KTTC as a reporter for more than 2 years since joining the station in January 2020.

She was born and bred in Minneapolis, where she attended DeLaSalle High School. Braye received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Lincoln University of Missouri. She got her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri- Columbia. While in school she worked as an anchor and a reporter for KOMU-TV. Braye spent two years serving as an Elementary Literacy Tutor through AmeriCorps. She is a former radio personality.

Braye was Miss Lincoln University of Missouri and was featured on Ebony Magazine’s website. She also played collegiate tennis. When she is not working, she likes watching and participating in pageants and has been a contestant in state competitions under Miss USA and Miss America. Braye also loves meeting new people and building a connection with people in the community. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Black Journalists.
