Karah Brackin is an American Reporter working for KSL since joining the station in March 2022. Prior to KSL 5 TV, she was working for WGME-TV in Portland, Maine as a morning reporter.

Brackin is a Reporter working for KSL 5 TV. She attended Auburn University College of Liberal Arts where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Brackin credits her passion for journalism and the dream of sharing other people’s stories with her alma mater. When she was a student at Auburn University, Brackin was heavily involved with Eagle Eye, the student-run television station where she spent more of her time as an anchor and reporter.

Prior to joining the KSL team, Brackin worked as a reporter in Portland, Maine, at WGME-TV, where she was as well a morning reporter. At WGME-TV Brackin learned how to layer and was no more a stranger covering stories in sub-zero feels-like temperatures.

Some of her most memorable moments include her extensive “Back to School” coverage of local school districts across the state, and shedding light on dozens of local business owners considered “essential workers” throughout the state’s phased reopening plan. During her free time, if it is winter, Brackin is probably outside experiencing many firsts with snow, boxing at the gym, or taste testing all of Portland’s local eateries.
