Katy Tur is an American broadcast journalist, reporter, correspondent, author, and anchor working at MSNBC and NBC. She has been working for the network since joining in August 2009.

Tur serves as a correspondent for NBC News and anchors and hosts Katy Tur Reports, which airs from 2:00-3:00 pm ET on weekdays on MSNBC. In addition to her roles at MSNBC, she also serves as a reporter at NBC News Today, Meets the Press, Early Today, and  NBC Nightly News. She previously worked for The Weather Channel where she served as a digital journalist from May 2009 to May 2010 in New York.

Prior to that, she worked for WPIX where she served as a reporter from March 2008 to May 2009. Before that, she worked at News 12 Brooklyn where she served as a reporter from 2007 to 2008. From 2006 to 2007, she worked at HD News/Cablevision where she served as a producer. Prior to that, she worked at KTLA where she served as a multimedia journalist from 2005 to 2006.

In March 2008, she was awarded AP’s Best Spot News Award for enclosing the 2008 crane collapse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. During her tenure at NBC News, she enclosed a motorcycle attack on an SUV, the death of Cory Monteith, and the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. She also managed to hold an exclusive interview with former president Donald Trump. She was also in charge of reporting on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Tur was stumbled upon by Trump supporters and Wolf Blitzer was verbally abused. In addition to that, she was awarded the Walter Cronkite Award for her incredible work as a journalist in 2017. She also published her own book by the name of “Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History.” The book is mainly based on her encounter during the 2016 presidential campaign with former president Donald Trump.
