Ken Molestina is an American Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter who is working at CBS 11. He serves as the co-anchor of the 11 am and 4 pm newscast alongside Karen Borta. He joined CBS 11 News in January 2014.

Molestina works at CBS 11 where he serves as the co-anchor of the 11 am and 4 pm newscast. Molestina previously worked at KVIA-TV in El Paso where he served as an anchor and reporter. While working at KVIA-TV, he concentrated on crime and public security reporting. Ken received an Emmy Award to show the secret tunnels used by illegal immigrants and human smugglers to break into the United States in El Paso. His study on the Barrio Azteca Gang, a dangerous transnational frontier gang, that operates mostly on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border was nominated for another Emmy Award. In addition, the Texas Associated Press awarded him the 1st place Breaking News category award.

Ken says the execution of a Texas death row convict was one of the most striking stories he ever wrote. The day before the execution he delivered the last public interview and witnessed the execution the next day. More recently, he was one of the first live reporters outside the White House to cover the festivities that erupted after the murder of Osama Bin Laden in 2011. Ken also commented on the re-election and inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2012. In the fall of 2013, he led his station to the Capitol Hill shut down by the federal government.

He started his career as a WFOR-TV intern in Miami. He has also worked in Gainesville, Florida, as an anchor and reporter on TV and radio. Ken also has first responder training. In the West Valley Fire Department of El Paso County, he spent almost three years as a volunteer firefighter. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Hispanic Journalists National Association. In English and Spanish, he is fluently bilingual. Ken also co-produced a documentary on the 1993 massacre aboard a train commuter Long Island Railroad in Long Island, New York, called ‘Terror on a Train.’

Ken loves watching golfers playing worse than him during his spare time and recently established an association between love and hate with Bikram Yoga. Mr. Ken expects to reconnect with the Lone Star State in the DFW zone and is delighted to hear the stories of the North Texan people.
