Kimberly Hunt is an American eight-time Emmy-Award Winning anchor at ABC10 News in San Diego, California. She rejoined the ABC10 News team in January 2008 as the chief/ primary anchor and managing editor for KGTV appearing on its 4, 6, 7, and 11 p.m. weeknights newscast alongside Steve Atkinson. Previously, she worked as a radio news reporter at KVON/VYN Radio in Napa.

Hunt is a proud graduate of San Francisco State University. In the course of her time in college, she worked at KVON/KVYN radio in Napa as a radio news reporter. Hunt started working for ABC Network News after her graduation as a researcher for Peter Jennings in 1984 during the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco. She was awarded the Best On-Air Talent ‘Anchor,’ award and her benefactions to the news at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m.

In 2011, she won the respected regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her story Tracking the Mexican Mafia-Inside Donovan State Prison. Hunt’s body of work earned her the Attorney General’s Crime Prevention Award. Reporting on the Super Bowls, the Academy Awards, and Political conventions is what Hunt has experienced.

She has interviewed Hollywood Stars, Oprah Winfrey, Politicians, and sitting Presidents in the White House. Hunt has earned other industry honors as well as two first-place awards from the San Diego Press Club. She reported on sex trafficking and Open-Air Brothels in San Diego’s canyons. She received a Golden Mic Award for a special titled Postcard From Home during the Persian Gulf War, which linked local Marines with their families through video-recorded messages.
