Kirstin O’Connor is an American journalist working for KXLY as an anchor of the evening news on 4 News Now along with Aaron Luna and Kris Crocker. She joined the station in August 2022. Previously, she worked for WKMG in Orlando, Florida as a morning news anchor for more than half a decade.

Aside from anchoring the morning program, she reported on big occasions including wildfires and the fatal shooting at Umpqua Community College in 2015. Exclusively, O’Connor toured the Sugar Pine Mine which gained state attention during an armed standoff between the Bureau of Land Management and local members of the Josephine County Oath Keepers.

In November 2015, O’Connor relocated to Orlando where she served the CBS affiliate, WKMG, as a reporter. In June 2016, WKMG’s newsroom encountered a tragedy that reshaped how journalists viewed Orlando City. An armed gunman charged into the Pulse nightclub claimed the lives of 49 people and left 53 others in cortical condition. In the following weeks, her role changed to a permanent seat behind the anchor desk. She developed her weekly medical franchise and reported for the evening and afternoon newscasts. O’Connor rejoined the Inland Northwest in 2022, fulfilling the dream for her and her family. She believes journalism’s future is digital.
