Anthony attended her junior high school at The Ursuline School in August 1984 where she graduated in 1995. After Junior high school, she enrolled at News Rochelle School where she received a diploma and media studies in May 1989. While there, Kontji was a member of various clubs including The Bridge TV Hostess, NY Junior Tennis League, and AKA Junior Volunteer.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Kontji attended Howard University where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in May 1993. While still attending Howard University, she joined the Instituto de Estudios Espanoles Valencia Spain in May 1992 where she learned culture and language. In January 2022, Anthony enrolled at Columbia Business School where she majored in Business, Marketing, and Management. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

She served the station for more than one decade from July 2005 to May 2022 where she delivered news on TV.

Previously, Kontji worked as a morning news anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. She also covered the film press junkets in Los Angeles and hosted a local HGTV called “Do It Yourself” a home improvement show. For her work at the station, she was awarded the Best Enterprise Reporting by Associated Press. Before joining WNCT-TV, Anthony worked as a TV news reporter at KOVR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Sacramento. At KOVR-TV, she was in charge of presenting and writing daily newscasts as well as filling in as an anchor.

Prior to working at KOVR-TV, Kontji served as a multimedia journalist at KTVO, the ABC affiliate in Lowa, Missouri. As a multimedia journalist, she was in charge of roles such as reporting, writing, and editing videos. In 1996, Anthony accepted a position as a TV news reporter at KBAK-TV in Bakersfield, California. While still working as a TV reporter, Kontji also served as a producer, anchor, and weather presenter. She worked for the station for three years where she was honored with the Best Reporter Award for her coverage of the California Veterans of Foreign Wars in 1997.

She started her career as a field producer and desk assistant at WCBS-TV from July 1994 to December 1995. While there, Anthony conducted interviews and helped staff in the production of daily newscasts. Apart from working as a journalist, Kontji is also the founder of the Youdle technology system where she works as a chief executive officer. She started the company in May 2022 where she connects local retailers with shoppers.
