Kristen McPeek is an American Reporter working for KUTV 2 News serving as a morning reporter. Before joining the station in May 2022, she served as a journalist and photographer at KBOI News in Boise, Idaho.

McPeek attended Sandpoint High School in 2009 where she studied Journalism and worked as an editor at a student newspaper. After that, she enrolled at Casper College where she graduated in 2014 with a degree in communication. Later on, Kristen joined North Idaho College where she obtained a degree in communication in 2015.
From there, she went on to join Boise State University where she earned a Master’s degree in Government and political science in 2022. During her time there, McPeek worked as a photographer at Campus Station from August 2015 to December 2017. She also covered major breaking news starting from legislative leaders to the State Capitol interviewing the Governor to rural wildland fires.
On top of this, McPeek also covered the environmental issues that many ranchers and the PTSD in veterans which won her awards. For her excellent work, she was honored with numerous awards including the Best Reporter of the Year. Before working at KBOI News, Kristen worked as a post-production supervisor at SkyBlue Media from August 2015 to October 2017. During her tenure at SkyBlue, she was in charge of supervising videography and helped in maintaining small businesses.
Kristen started her broadcasting career at KCWY News 13 working as a production assistant. As an assistant, she was responsible for operating cameras and delivering live newscasts on deadline. She served the station for nine months from September 2013 to May 2014. In addition to this, McPeek is also an active member of community service. She has been involved with various organizations such as Ride for Joy, Wasatch Mountain Arts, and Sundance Institute.
