Deniz joined Hawaiʻi Community College when she finished her high school education at Kamehameha Schools- Kapalama. She later received an Associate degree and was picked as its alumna of the year. Next, she joined the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications. While there, she worked as an intern at Hawaiʻi News Now(HNN). Additionally, she participated in pageants and was crowned the 2011 Miss Kona Coffee.
