Lara Bryn is an American journalist working for WRGB as a daytime and evening anchor since she was promoted in November 2024. She joined the station in June 2022 as a morning show anchor. Previously, she worked for Fox 35 Orlando, WOFL-TV as a special projects reporter and anchor for 4 years.
Lara Bryn Education
Bryn joined Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2006 after finishing her high school education. In 2010, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, she was involved with CONNECT, Z89, the Society of Professional Journalists, WAER, the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Bryn has worked for WRGB as a daytime and evening anchor since she was promoted in November 2024. Upon joining the station, she initially worked as a morning show anchor. Before that, she worked in sunny Florida for 4 years, where she broadcast in-depth health stories, breaking news, and space launches, and as many stories at Disney World, Universal Studios, and the beach as she could find. She won an Emmy for her continuous broadcast of the George Floyd rallies in downtown Orlando. Additionally, she broadcast morning show traffic and anchored each newscast at the station.
Before Florida, Bryn worked in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for three-and-a-half years. There, she climbed the ranks from the Capitol beat reporter to weekend anchor and primary anchor. She also covered a story about her father who was afflicted by early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease. In this capacity, she researched for a cure and featured a visit to her father’s assisted living facility. That story won her many awards, including her first regional Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award. Further, she won a national Society of Professional Journalists Award.
Following her father’s death, Bryn started concentrating more on wellness and health reporting. Ever since, she has become a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and is currently working on getting a health coaching certification. In 2017, she ran the New York City Marathon to raise money for an Alzheimer’s charity in New York City.
Bryn has worked as a reporter in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Elmira, New York. Originally from New Jersey, she is excited to return to the Northeast with her family. Moreover, she is involved with the Alzheimer’s Association.
