Laurel Staples is an American journalist working for NBC Montana as an evening anchor. She joined the station in 2012 as co-anchor for NBC Montana Today and has served the station for more than a decade. Previously, she worked for the CBS affiliate station in Butte as an anchor, producer, and reporter.

During her time at NBC Montana, she worked with a team that won the E.B. Craney Television Newscast of the Year Award in 2020 and 2021 and the 2019 Breaking News. Further, the team was the runner-up for Television Hard News Reporting for the station’s On the Northern Border.
Staples won the 2010 E.B. Craney Television Broadcaster of the Year Award. In collaboration with NBC Montana’s team, she broadcasted the Mansfield-Metcalf Dinner in Butte, featuring then-presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. They won the 2009 E.B. Craney Program of the Year Award for the broadcast.
In 2008, she won the 2008 E.B. Craney runner-up for the Program of the Year Award for the series, Face the State – Evel Knievel. She serves as a member of the Missoula Kiwanis Club. Previously, she worked for the CBS affiliate station in Butte as an anchor, producer, and reporter. She has also worked in Helena and Missoula.
