In 2021, Crawford broadcast the fatal Mount Tabor High School shooting. She witnessed the devastation across the community, developing a passion for reporting on school security improvements made across the state. Additionally, she broadcast the Winston Weaver fertilizer fire and chemical explosion threat, which led to forced evacuations in Winston-Salem city.
Crawford launched her on-air career at WBTW News13 in South Carolina. Her first major assignment came in August 2019 when she was assigned Hurricane Dorian, then Hurricane Isaias. The assignment helped her find her passion for local news. She also saw a chance to create a difference in the community through her reports.
Crawford enjoys the adrenaline that comes with breaking news and tries to thoroughly look into stories that impact, while creating bonds that connect, inform, inspire, and motivate people to know what’s occuring in their community.
