Lauren Wendy Sánchez is an American Emmy award-winning actress and media personality. She gained fame as an entertainment reporter and news anchor. Sánchez has been an anchor and special correspondent on Extra, a co-host on KTTV Fox 11’s Good Day LA an anchor on the Fox 11 Ten O’clock News, and a guest host on The View. In addition to that, she has been a regular contributor on shows including Showbiz Tonight, The Joy Behar Show, and Larry King Live.

Sánchez headed back to work for KCOP-TV as an anchor for UPN 13 News in 1999. After working for some time there, she landed the entertainment reporting gig for FOX 11’s 10 p.m. news on KTTV in L.A. In February 2000, she was the runner-up in the nationwide hosting competition during season 2 of The View. Unfortunately, the position was given to Lisa Ling. She later became the original host of FOX’s popular dancing competition So You Think You Can Dance in 2005.
After one season, she left the show to have her second child. Later, she returned to Extra as a weekend anchor and special correspondent in 2009. She continued to occasionally work on Good Day LA, Extra, and other TV shows. In 2010, she was featured in People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful” issue and Us Weekly’s “Hot Bodies” issue. In 2016, she founded Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film, and production company. She now focuses on film and television projects which allow her to use her skills as a licensed pilot of airplanes and helicopters.
